Tour Through Canada

Because travel for pleasure doesn't have to end with the onset of autumn, we continue our virtual tour through individual countries via photographs.  Following Russia, which we featured last week, we continue this week with a visit to Canada, another spectacular and multicultural country, this one with two official languages.

Last week we re-started our regular fortnightly bulletin of festivals around the world. Don't miss the most engaging events from the fields of music, dance, film, and many others.  The following events are scheduled for the second half of September.

Following up on our summer series of the best movies from past decades, it is time to return to our customary, thematic approach to movies. Today we start with films that capture the environment of the courtroom, whether these are based on true stories or are fictional.

The days are getting shorter, so no wonder people are surrounding themselves with beautiful and colourful decorations. Those who have the luxury of having a garden or a balcony will appreciate a few planting tips, before winter takes over.  Others will appreciate new ideas for interior decoration, on windows or doors. Check out our gallery.

Moving on from Vietnam - our destination last week - we travel north to visit the largest country in the world, covering an incredible 11 time zones, where we will enjoy a rich history and a landscape filled with contrast. Visit Russia.

If you utterly love summer, then the upcoming autumn will be a real setback. Fortunately, tourism is on the rise, and sunny destinations are within reach. Where to travel to extend the summer? Check out our gallery.

Some are single by choice, and some remain single and wish they were not! In these modern times, when loneliness has become a bane and there are millions of individuals who desperately look for a mate, we have an interview with Professor Menelaos Apostolou to discuss those who are single and may remain single.

The advantage of the last decade to be featured in our summer movie series is that there are still some great movies to go. Nevertheless, we have managed to choose the best as of today. This week we are closing this series, and beginning this coming week you can look forward a new movie topic every week.

There is an old joke which trivialises the building of tunnels. In a nutshell, it states that the construction of a tunnel starts from two points and the idea is, of course, to meet in the middle. And if not, then there is the option of having two tunnels.  Transportation via tunnel is not as new as one might think. The first road tunnel was built 76 - 77 AD for the Via Flaminia at the Furlo Pass in the Apennines.  Which are the longest road tunnels? Continue reading.

This number in our series on basic food preparation is dedicated to one of the most variable items in our menus - milk. Milk becomes part of our diet the day we are born and stays with us throughout our lives. The variety of milk products is simply endless, and equally various are the sources of milk, including cow's milk and goat milk and continuing to sheep or buffalo milk. Check out the foods that are based on milk.
