The International Symposium on Communicating Nuclear and Radiological Emergencies to the Public and The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAAEA) are inviting students and early career professionals to submit an innovative concept for a communicators competition on how to communicate nuclear or radiological emergencies to the public. The deadline is on 15th of June.

Editors, designers, developers, social media managers, and media entrepreneurs are welcome to participate in News Impact Academy in Spain. This year the annual event focuses on how to develop a vision and strategy for innovation and discuss what success looks like. The deadline is on July 20th.

Are you an early-career statistician with the ability to write data-driven stories in an entertaining and thought-provoking way? If so, you are welcome to enter the 2018 Statistical Excellence Award for Early-Career Writing. The competition is jointly organised by Significance and the Young Statisticians Section of the Royal Statistical Society (RSS) and forms part of the RSS Statistical Excellence Awards programme. The deadline is on 28th of May.

The EU-Australia Leadership Forum is looking for promising young leaders from Australia and the EU to take part in the Emerging Leaders Forum/Senior Leaders Forum which will take place in Brussels from 18 to 22 November 2018. Applications close on 31 May at 23:59 Australian Eastern Standard Time. Applicants will be advised of the outcome of their application by email, on or before 19 June 2018.

Journalists and bloggers with at least three years of experience who wish to advance their knowledge in the area of sciences are welcome to apply for the The Falling Walls Fellowship. The main goal of the program is to keep the public informed on life-changing scientific breakthroughs. Deadline to apply is June 24th.

Are you 18-30 and taking part in activities to fight climate change? Send a three-minute video for a chance to be a youth reporter at the UN Climate Change Conference in Poland in December. The deadline is on 31 August 2018.

WWF has several openings through its Youth Volunteer Internship Programme with the aim of creating a taskorce with WWF Romania. Young people from all over the world who are interested in wildlife conservation and willing to join a team in one of Europe’s largest and most unique wilderness areas are welcome to apply. Deadline is on May 20.

 

Consortia of higher education institutions with study periods in at least two European countries offering: Erasmus Munds Joint Masters Degrees (EMJMD) and Erasmus Mundus Joint Doctorates (EMJD). The programmes will be offering scholarships for courses taking place in the academic year 2018-2019. Most consortia will require applications to be submitted between October and January.

 

The Program is conducted to support organisations that work towards solving worldwide issues. The Challenge this year is “How to address urgent global challenges at the intersections of peace, prosperity, and planet in radically new ways?” The deadline is on 4th of June.

The Internet Freedom Fund is aims to support projects and people working on open and accessible technology-centric projects that promote human rights, internet freedom, open societies, and help advance inclusive and safe access to global communications networks for at-risk users including journalists, human rights defenders, civil society activists, and every-day people living within repressive environments who wish to speak freely online. The deadline is on 1st of July.
